Winter Skin Care

Are you wondering why your skin is so dry and itchy during winter? Harsh winter wind and indoor heating can cause extremely dry and uncomfortable skin. However it’s possible to have beautiful skin during dry winter seasons if you follow some tips. Below are some tips of how to look after your skin during winter.

- Drink plenty of water, it will hydrate you body and your skin.

- Buy a humidifier, to prevent the air from getting too dry. If you can’t buy it, or can’t afford one, you can put a bucket of water in your room. It will act as a humidifier.

- Exfoliate, dry weather causes dead Exfoliating will remove all flaky and dead skin. After exfoliate, put plenty of lotion on your skin. Only exfoliate one or two times a day, exfoliating too much can also cause very dry skin.

- Put on some sunscreen. Just because its winter doesn’t mean that you don’t need your sunscreen. Use a sunscreen daily with SPF of 15 or over.

- Put rich skin cream on your skin, to prevent it from flaking and drying up.

- Never lick your lips. It will just dry your lips up even faster. If you have dry lips, put on a lot of quality lip balm. Cheap lip balms have a lot of chemicals in them which will cause more dryness later on.

- Take a warm bath with a few drops of almond oil and a few capsule of Vitamin E. Almond oil will moisturize your skin, and it will smell awesome. Vitamin E does the same too.

- Get into a skin care routine. Like moisturizing every night, exfoliating very week, etc.

To have great healthy skin during winter season, you will need to exfoliate, moisturize and many other tips above. It may seem like a lot of hassle, but great radiant healthy skin will be worth it.

There are many ways to make pimples more unnoticeable like using an ice pack and putting it over the pimple-infected area for a few minutes to reduce the swelling of the pimples.

There is the using of the toothpaste way. This is a method of getting rid of pimples for some but this way is not suitable for all skin types because toothpaste has a certain ingredient in it that is harmful for sensitive skin. However, toothpaste is said to be able to dry up pimples in a day which is good since oil is practically a pimples’ ‘food’.

If your skin is the type that hardly gets pimple but there would be the occasional pimple now and then. Then I suggest using make up (if you’re a girl) on it, to cover it up. Concealer works best on these cover ups, if I’m not wrong. If you’re a guy, then why not try Oxy Cover? It is known to cover up pimples and kill them at the same time. A good ‘killing two birds with one stone’ product, I must say. However, bear in mind (once again) that Oxy might not work on all skin types so be alert and find out what is your skin type.

Green beans can also be used to cure pimples. It can be taken internally and externally. When taking green beans internally, boil the beans then add sugar (if you prefer sweet things) then drink it when it’s warm enough to be drank. For externally, green beans must be made into paste then applied onto the face. You can leave it on at night till morning or wash it away after a few hours. Just like Apple Cider Vinegar which can be taken both internally and externally.

Using of products are also good ways to make pimples more unnoticeable. In fact, using of products are more effective in getting rid of pimples. Products like Zyporex or Acneticin which are really good acne treatments.

However, the best way to make your pimples unnoticeable is to take good care of your skin. When you feel that your skin is oily, spray water on your face then wait a while (remember when oil and water separates? It would do the same for your face. The oil would separate from the water and be at the surface of your face) before dabbing it with a clean tissue. Sleep early because it helps fight off pimples. Wash your face regularly with a good cleanser. Don’t scrub your face too hard or squeeze/press any of your newly surfaced pimples because they might cause scars. And when you’re applying acne treatment products on your face, don’t just put them on the pimples itself, put the acne treatment products on the acne-prone area of your face as well like the cheeks, nose and forehead.

These are the ways you can make pimples more unnoticeable.

The Magic of Exfoliating

Posted by @ 9:09 pm

What is exfoliating? Exfoliating involves the removal of the oldest dead skin cells on the skin’s outermost surface and this has been used for a long time in maintaining good skin. The importance of exfoliating is to reveal the new skins that are under the old skins; this helps to unclog pores, keeps the skin clean, and also lessens the acne breakouts. Also, exfoliating can be done by a professional or by yourself.

There are two ways of exfoliating with, either by mechanical and chemical. Through mechanical exfoliating, the mechanical devices that will exfoliate contains minuscule pieces of grit that, when rubbed on your skin, dislodge the dead skin cells. However when using the chemical exfoliating way, instead of using mechanical devices, it uses mild acids to dislodge the dead skin cells from your face.

Remember that when doing exfoliating by yourself, you have to make sure you use products that cater to your skin needs. If your skin is sensitive, don’t try to use products designed for the normal average skin because it might cause problems like rashes might occur or it might ruin your skin.

Also remember that when you exfoliate regularly, you have to make sure you have a moisturizer with you at all times so that you can put moisturizer on your face all the time. The reason is because exfoliating can cause the skin to dry out and dry skin is also an invitation for skin to wrinkle – a nightmare people don’t want to become a reality.

To exfoliate on your own, this is the way to do it. Firstly, you have to rinse (wet) the area that you want to exfoliate. Secondly, use a loofah or (even) an electronic toothbrush on your face after you apply an exfoliating cleanser onto your skin. Make sure you make circular motions on your face as you scrub it gently (especially on the sensitive parts like the neck) – not too harsh because you don’t want to injure your skin. Thirdly, rinse your skin thoroughly. Don’t leave any soap or anything behind as it could cause your pores to be clogged again. Finally, follow up with a good moisturizer to prevent dryness for your skin.

However, if this is your first time doing exfoliation, I’d suggest going to a professional first and consulting them. You need to know what your skin type is -whether it is oily, dry, or sensitive. It’s best to know.

Summer Skin Care

Posted by @ 9:08 pm

During summer, we girls have to worry about things. Especially these two things: Increased dryness and oil production. The two dilemmas we all face because these two are the ‘special’ ones that ruins our good skin.

Increase in dryness can cause skin peeling and itchiness. Experiencing itchiness (because of dry skin) is irritating. Imagine having to constantly scratch yourself just so you feel relieved, not to forget that scratching yourself too much can lead to scarring as well. Skin peeling is another irritating consequence of dryness. Skin peeling gives you things to look forward to – the good and bad news. The good news would be that skin peeling can actually give you the opportunity to have a new set of skin again. The bad news would be that for that moment of time, you’ll look unattractive because you might look like some weird Martian with his/her skin peeling off … or you might not.

Oil production causes one big problem for all of us – the acne problem. An oily face basically screams to the acne ‘kings’ that “The face here is vacant for acne population”. And because acnes stay for a long time, practically grabbing on for their lives as we try to destroy them, our confidence suffer for a while there.

That is why during the summer period, we have to know how to take care of our skin! It’s not that hard to take care of our skin during the summer really and I doubt that we’ll lose any precious summer time of ours.

Firstly, when going out to do activities, don’t forget to bring your moisturizers. If you don’t have one, buy one. It’s one of the must-have items for your daily activities. Moisturizers can help prevent your skin from drying up. However, when buying your moisturizer, try and make sure it also contains sun-block so that you’ll be able to protect your skin from the strong UV lights from the sun – thus, decreasing your chances of getting skin cancer as well. Secondly, remember to drink water, at least eight (8 oz) glasses a day. Do not forget to hydrate yourself. These fluids will help detoxify the skin and keep it looking moist and dewy. Lastly, make sure you constantly consume fresh fruits, vegetables and green salads to prevent constipation. I know summer can be fun but abstaining from these foods can cause skin problems.

Those aren’t the only ways to care for your skin during the summer. For example, eating vitamin supplements are also important for maintaining healthy skin (Vitamin E, especially). Not only are vitamin supplements good for the skin, they are also good for the whole body. There are certain vitamins like Flaxseed oil that is good for the heart as well.

So remember these things to protect your skin from harm.

Dealing with Acne

Posted by @ 9:07 pm

Everyone goes through acne, only those with really good genes don’t undergo such torturous phase of their lives. However, those really good genes are really limited.

Acne, although everyone goes through them, they are not very popular among the people. The reason is because these people without acnes do a daily routine that those people with acne don’t do – daily washing of their faces. Washing our faces is important to prevent skin problems like acne, dryness, oily and etc – especially

acne.

Do you know that acne is the number one skin problem that causes most of the population in this world to have low self-esteem? Apart from the weight problem that is. The reason is because acne stays on our skin for a long time and one small ‘colony’ of acne can lead to a whole city of them overnight if nothing is done to heal your skin from acne.

Dealing with acne is easy especially once you accept the fact that everyone goes through acne so don’t wallow in self-pity and cry in one corner thinking that you’re hideously deformed because you’re not. Everyone has been through the phase you’re going through now so everyone understands how you feel.

Firstly, when you have acne, make sure you make a daily routine for yourself. Like every time you wake up, you’ll wash your face with a certain cleanser and the same goes for the time you go to bed. Also, try not too wash your face too much because washing your face with cleanser more than needed (thrice, maximum) is actually an indirect invite to bacteria that causes acne. When drying your face, try to use tissue instead of towels because sometimes towels aren’t washed properly. Secondly, use a good product (search it on the internet and find reviews of the product or consult a dermatologist) that will help clear acne. Follow the instructions on the bottle of the product and do it all the time, even when you’re feeling lazy you have to do it because if you miss one night, it higher the chances of your skin being immune to the product. Thirdly, drink lots of water and high-in-fibre foods to aid your digestion. If your waste is not cleared properly, it also causes breakouts because of the bacteria in your waste. Hence, constipation is a big no-no if you want to clear your acne. If you’re suffering from constipation, try to clear it as soon as possible. Laxatives for a few nights might help. Lastly, you need to sleep a lot. Sleeping is a good way of fighting your acnes. So sleep is good in this case.

By doing all those, it’ll help reduce your acne thus making it easier for you to deal with the fact that you have acnes. As time passes, you’ll gradually feel more confident and soon, you’re ready to ‘fly’.

Basic Skin Care

Posted by @ 9:06 pm

In today’s world, having healthy-looking skin is extremely important. How your skin looks affects how you are perceived as an individual, so if you’re worried about keeping your skin looking good read on to find some good tips.

One thing that you’ve probably all heard before is that to keep a healthy glow about your skin, drink water

. Water helps to keep you hydrated, and prevents skin from drying out. The more moisture there is in your skin, the more it will glow, and the longer it will take to wrinkle at an older age. If you really don’t like drinking water, make sure to at least use a good moisturiser – but avoid any petroleum-based products as these help to clog up the pores.

Another important point you’ve probably heard a hundred times already is to wash your face every morning and every night. This helps keep dirt out of pores, therefore preventing new spots or blackheads, and if you scrub gently with salted water it’s perfect for getting rid of any dead skin cells. However, avoid over-washing as this can dry out the skin and leave it looking flaky.

If you’re the type that worries about wrinkles, or you want to prevent wrinkles appearing, and you use anti-wrinkle creams then I have a tip for you too. Use them at night only. Anti-wrinkle and de-aging creams leave your skin more sensitive to sunlight, which damages the skin. Also, research has shown that skin absorbs products better during the night, so your cream is likely to work far better during the night.

One final thing: avoid spending too much time in the sun unprotected. The UV rays from the sun damage your skin, leading to premature wrinkles and sagginess. Always use a good protecting lotion whilst in the sun for long periods of time, and avoid tanning too much – fake tans, when applied properly, look just as good as real tans and are a lot safer to use.
